EASL Congress 2025 will take place at:

Access to all scientific events will only be possible with your personal name badge. All participants are requested to wear their name badges throughout the congress.

EUR 50.00 (incl. VAT) will be charged for replacing a lost badge and for re-printing due to incorrect submission of names and/or company names or addresses.

In May, Amsterdam typically experiences mild and pleasant weather. Average temperatures range from around 10°C (50°F) in the early morning to 18°C (64°F) during the day. It’s a transitional month, so while there can be sunny days, there is also a chance of rain, with occasional showers being common. 

The EASL Congress 2025 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 7-10  May, will receive accreditation from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®), providing European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should only claim credit for the actual hours spent in the educational activity. 

Further details regarding the number of accredited points will be provided shortly. 

Please note that the accreditation for on-demand recordings will be valid for a period of only three months after the event concludes. 

After the EASL Congress 2025 concludes, please take a moment to complete a brief five-minute online survey. Following this, you can access your certificate through your registration account, which will be available starting from 10 May 2025.

 

Requirement: attendance (online or onsite) at the congress.  

All official prices are indicated in Euro (€). The official currency in the Netherlands is Euro (EUR). All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops.

EASL Congress 

The EASL Congress is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all attendees, including individuals with disabilities. We recognise the importance of ensuring that everyone can fully participate in our events, and we are dedicated to removing barriers and promoting equal opportunities for all. 

EASL recognises that individuals with disabilities may require the assistance of personal care attendants to fully participate in the Congress. Therefore, we will provide complimentary access to personal care attendants accompanying registered attendees with disabilities. Please inform the registration staff upon arrival at the Congress. 

EASL is dedicated to continuously improving is accessibility initiatives and policies. We welcome feedback from attendees with disabilities to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance accessibility for future congresses.

In the Netherlands, the plugs used are Type C and Type F. You may need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter if you’re coming from a country with different standards.

By submitting an abstract to the EASL Congress, you agree to abide by this embargo policy. The policy states that authors, presenters and/or their sponsors may not share data or key results from the abstract in any form (print, broadcast or online publication, media release or conference presentation) until this embargo is lifted. Authors, presenters and/or their sponsors may, however, publicise the fact that their abstract has been selected for inclusion in the congress programme before the abstract is officially released. In this context, they may publish the title of their abstract together with the names of the authors and institutions.  

 

Embargos according to the category of submission  

A detailed breakdown of the embargo policies for different types of abstracts is available below. All congress delegates, presenters, industry employees, sponsors, and media agree to respect this policy when submitting their abstracts or registering for the event. 

  1. Accepted abstracts selected for the following sessions should not be disclosed before the start of EASL Congress 2025 at 8:00 CET on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 (the opening day of the congress). Authors will be informed during the abstract notification process if their abstract has been selected for one of these sessions. 
  • General Session I  
  • General Session II 
  • Late-breaker Session 
  1. EASL Congress Late-breaker abstracts (poster presentations only): Data from abstracts submitted during the late-breaker submission period and which have been selected for poster presentation may not be disclosed before the start of EASL Congress 2025 at 8:00 CET on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 (the opening day of the congress). 

 

  1. Accepted abstracts selected for the following sessions should not be disclosed before 8:00 CET on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 (i.e. two weeks before the start of the congress). 
  • Oral sessions (excluding General Session I, General Session II, Late-breaker Session, or pre-selected abstracts for potential inclusion in an EASL Congress press release) 
  • Poster sessions (excluding pre-selected abstracts for potential inclusion in an EASL Congress press release and late-breaker) 

Note: All pre-recorded presentations may not be disclosed before the start time of their presentation in the official programme. Posters, ePosters and ePoster videos may not be disclosed before 8:00 CET on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 (the first day of the event). 

 

Embargo breaks 

Examples of breaking the embargo include publishing data from the abstract in a journal or via a public outlet before the abstract is presented at the congress. Violation of the embargo policy above will be taken seriously. Individuals and/or sponsors who violate it may face sanctions relating to current and future abstract submissions, presentations, and visibility at EASL events. The EASL Governing Board is at liberty to ban attendance and/or retract data. 

 

If you find out that data from an abstract you submitted to EASL Congress 2025 is scheduled for publication prior to the lifting of the embargo, please inform the EASL Congress 2025 team immediately at abstracts.easlcongress@easloffice.eu

There are various restaurants in the congress centre offering different food options.  

Lunch and coffee are not included in the registration fee. Water dispensers are located at numerous places throughout the venue.   

The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translations will not be provided.

To enhance interactivity, these sessions have a limited number of seats available. Participation will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ensure you are present at the session door at least 15 minutes before the session starts. 

Meet-the-expert sessions will be live-streamed and can also be accessed on-demand. Overflow arrangements will be made at the Track Hubs situated in Hall 10. Workshop and skills learning centres will only be available in person. 

Registration and/or admission to the Congress is restricted exclusively to participants who are 18 years of age or older. This limitation is in accordance with current health and safety regulations and legal requirements. Any attempt to register by an individual under 18 is considered unauthorized and a breach of these Terms and Conditions. Such registrations will be automatically voided. Please be aware that you may be requested to provide identification to Congress staff upon their request. By completing your registration for the Congress, you confirm and guarantee that you are 18 years of age or older. Additionally, you acknowledge your agreement to comply with all the Terms and Conditions outlined for this Congress.

In the event that a child accompanies their parent to the conference, it is essential that they remain under the direct supervision of their parents and do not venture beyond the designated registration area. 

The Press Conference Room, the Interview Rooms and the Press Centre are located on the first floor on the balcony. Access is restricted to Media and Press representatives.

EASL Congress 2025 is a non-smoking event.   

In the Netherlands, the standard time is Central European Time (CET; UTC+01:00).

It is recommended to apply as early as possible for a visa as the application process can be time consuming. Before applying for your visa, please check the latest information on entry regulations for the Netherlands. In case of visa rejection, EASL cannot be held responsible and therefore cannot refund any registration and accommodation fees. You are strongly advised to find out if you need a visa to enter the Netherlands as early as possible, and should a visa be required, to apply as soon as possible. 

An invitation letter for visa application support from the EASL Congress 2025 registration system will be provided upon request during the registration process. This letter will be sent to the specified email address once registration is completed and payment is received. Participants are required to include this invitation letter along with all other necessary documents when applying for their visa.

Please be aware that the invitation letter does not imply any obligation on behalf of EASL to cover registration fees, accommodation, travel expenses, or any other costs associated with Congress participation.

In the event of a visa denial, EASL will reimburse the registration fee only upon receipt of the official refusal document from the embassy/consulate, provided that the visa application was submitted to the embassy in a timely manner and included all required documentation.
