Love Your Liver: Impact Projects
Value creation at EASL does not stop at its members, partners, and delegates. EASL is committed to providing a long lasting, positive impact on the lives of those who are connected to its events, as well as all the people living and working in the communities who host them.
Free liver testing!
Love Your Liver is about bringing EASL’s expertise and resources directly to the communities that host our congresses. At EASL Congress 2025, EASL offers an opportunity for a free liver scan to the citizens of Amsterdam, the public, and our delegates.
This type of scan is non-invasive, painless, and very quick. Anyone who is interested can find out how healthy their livers are are and receive consultations about their results.

Leeds to Amsterdam: Cycle for Liver Health
Under the “Love Your Liver” initiative at EASL Congress 2025, a dedicated group of liver specialists from the Liver Transplant Unit at St James’s Hospital in Leeds is embarking on an inspiring journey. They will cycle from St James’s Hospital to EASL Congress in Amsterdam, covering hundreds of kilometers to highlight the growing burden of liver disease, the positive impact of exercise on liver health, and to raise funds for research and patient support.
Liver disease is an increasingly urgent public health challenge in the UK, with mortality rates rising sharply over the past decade. Many of the most common liver diseases—linked to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and alcohol consumption—can be prevented and even reversed through lifestyle changes. However, most liver diseases remain silent until they reach an advanced stage, at which point treatment options become severely limited.
Through this initiative, the team aims to raise awareness of liver disease and promote healthy lifestyle choices that can protect liver function and enhance overall well-being. Their journey underscores the importance of regular exercise, not only as a means of prevention but also as a powerful tool in managing liver health.
