EASL Congress
The EASL Congress is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all attendees, including individuals with disabilities. We recognize the importance of ensuring that everyone can fully participate in our events, and we are dedicated to removing barriers and promoting equal opportunities for all.
EASL recognises that individuals with disabilities may require the assistance of personal care attendants to fully participate in the Congress. Therefore, EASL will provide complimentary access to personal care attendants accompanying registered attendees with disabilities. Please inform the registration staff upon arrival at the Congress.
EASL is dedicated to continuously improving is accessibility initiatives and policies. We welcome feedback from attendees with disabilities to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance accessibility for future congresses.

The venue MiCo Fiera Milano
MiCo Fiera Milano is a barrier-free venue, and, among other measures, the venue has parking spaces for disabled people and can also provide wheelchairs.
In Italy, there are precise normative references in this regard. For private buildings reference is made to:
– Law No. 13 of 1989, implemented by Ministerial Decree No. 236 of 14/6/1989
– Law No. 220 of 2012, which basically updates the technical dimensional parameters, improving them from the past.
For public buildings, however, the regulatory reference is Presidential Decree (DPR) No. 503 of 1996.
Law 13/1989 basically defines the 3 basic criteria for the use of buildings for people with disabilities, which are stated as follows:
Accessibility: a building and its environmental units are accessible if people with reduced or impeded motor or sensory capacity can also enter, experience the spaces and use the equipment present in safety and autonomy.
Visitability: private places such as home and workplace are visitable if those with reduced or impeded motor or sensory abilities can reach relational spaces and at least one toilet.
Adaptability: a space is modified so that it is accessible and usable by people with reduced or impeded motor or sensory abilities.
The law also defines technical and dimensional parameters that must be met and that are related to achieving these three criteria: the minimum dimensions of doors; the characteristics of the stairs; the slope of ramps; the presence of spaces that allow wheelchair rotation; the dimensions of elevators; the characteristics of an accessible toilet.
